July - August 2009: Review your local comic shop

This month, post a review of your local comic shop. You can review more than one if you like. If you're able to take photos of the shop, all the better (though you might want to get permission to take them first).

Review ideas: detail your favorite section of the store, convenience of the location and other amenities in the area, your favorite memories there, favorite salespeople, things you'd like to see there, your last purchase there, special events you may have attended...have fun!

My first real comic book store. Emil, the owner, is an awesome guy. He knows me as the "Gambit" guy, due to a conversation him and I had over my distaste for Thor. The place even smells good, considering the clientele, lol. Its a very simple set up with several shelving for comics. They're not into graphic novels or manga that much either. Which, in my opinion is a huge plus not having to deal with that crowd (Bunch of teenage dorks! I could tell you a great hilarious conversation a friend and I had with a group of them at Borders. They were the perfect stereotypes!) If you're a regular there they'll even pull a few issues for you and hold them behind the counter. They have a great selection and will order what they don't have (I imagine most places do, but they do it with gusto). The only thing I take issue with (no pun intended) is their very limited selection of back issues. Go there for the atmosphere and conversation.
